A Milestone for University Golf in Chin
The 7th National University Golf Championship took place from May 23 to 29, 2025, on the scenic Shenzhou Peninsula in Wanning, Hainan. Hosted at the prestigious Zhonghai Shenzhou Golf Club, the tournament brought together over 350 students and faculty from 53 universities across China.
Guided by the Department of Science and Education of the General Administration of Sport of China, this event has become a flagship for university-level athletic competition and a model of integration between sports and education.
First Time in Hainan — Record Participation
Launched in 2019, the National University Golf Championship has grown into the largest and most competitive collegiate golf tournament in China. This year marked its first time in Hainan, and the event reached record levels of participation and media attention.
Leading universities such as Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Sun Yat-sen University, and South China University of Technology took part, including many from the prestigious 985, 211, and Double First-Class institutions.

- Faculty and student divisions
- Teaching skills challenge
- Team competition
- Individual stroke play
DaZheng Sports & Shenzhou Golf: A Strategic Collaboration
DaZheng Sports, a co-organizer of the event, has a long-standing relationship with Zhonghai Shenzhou Golf Club. In 2016, the club hosted the GCCT Youth Golf Championship Finals and the first “GCCT Meet the Future” Sports Education Forum. That event marked a major step in integrating golf into China’s higher education system and promoting inter-university exchanges.
Now, nearly a decade later, DaZheng Sports returned to Shenzhou Peninsula with the National University Golf Championship, bringing hundreds of student-athletes and teachers to experience one of China’s top golf destinations.
The collaboration between DaZheng Sports and the Shenzhou club also extended into marketing, logistics, and tournament experience design—enhancing the quality of play and participation.
World-Class Hosting Experience at Shenzhou Golf
Shenzhou Peninsula Golf Club upgraded its operations to provide a seamless and professional tournament environment. Highlights included:
- Course Quality: A dedicated turf management team was on-site daily to ensure fast greens and perfect fairways suited for competitive play.
- Player Support: Through a partnership with the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, organizers offered fast check-in, nutrition-focused meals, and hourly shuttle service to and from the golf course.
- Training & Technology: Players had access to professional-level practice facilities, swing analysis tools, and a scoring review system used in commercial tournaments.
Looking Ahead: Golf’s Growing Presence in China’s Universities
As this year’s championship concluded and winners were celebrated, the broader mission of building university golf programs in China continued. With every edition, the National University Golf Championship promotes intercollegiate connection, sports education, and the future of golf in China.
